About

I'm Sam, an industrial design student. I work designs out by building them full scale early, then using them until the problems show up.

That's usually where the project actually turns. The first GOVA stool held my weight, but the support arms had no locking mechanism and the top step overhung with nothing behind it. The second version got machined aluminum brackets, a shallower step angle, and the string pull moved inside the frame. REVA failed outright because the cavity was too deep to vacuum form. I scrapped it and rebuilt around a slot and connector system instead.

I care how something is made as much as how it looks: what it gets cut from, how it comes apart, whether a joint still feels tight after a few hundred folds. Most of my better decisions happen at the machine rather than on screen.

Looking for industrial design internships and full time work.
